Among his many interests, Rex Stout became personally involved in the Authors League of America. It, in turn, took an active role in the National Committee for the Universal Copyright Convention, which was ratified in 1954. The letterhead below is part of the Irving Dillard collection at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. From the Honarable Edward I. Koch, Author and Statesman
According to Ellen Krieger, Werowance Emerita, this letter was sent in response to a letter from the Wolfe Pack.  "At the time of Stout's centennial, The Wolfe Pack wrote to the Mayor's Office hoping to get a proclamation or have 12/1 declared Rex Stout Day."
