Literary Awards
The Archie Goodwin Award

What It Is
  • The Archie Goodwin Lifetime Achievement Award ("The Archie") was created by the Wolfe Pack in 2005 as a Lifetime Achievement Award presented biannually for those writers who have impressed a significant majority of Wolfe Pack members worldwide.
  • This award was created to celebrate the many mystery authors our members enjoy, an award decided and given by Wolfe Pack members only.
  • Authors will be nominated by the membership at large.
  • Nominees may be living or dead and must have originally written or published their works in English.
  • A Final Ballot will be created by the Nominating Committee and distributed to all Wolfe Pack members, who may vote for all or some of the five finalists.
  • The results of the voting will be revealed at the Wolfe Pack Black Orchid Assembly in Manhattan in December.

Previous winners are listed on the Archie Awardees Page.

How It Works
  • A five member Nominating Committee has been formed. Members were selected from the membership of the Wolfe Pack.
    • At least one member must be on the Wolfe Pack Steering Committee.
    • Two people will be required to leave the committee after each award cycle.
  • The Nominating Committee will solicit nominations, review them and submit the top nominees to the membership for voting.
    • Members of the committee should read at least one book by all the authors on the final ballot.
  • Each member of the Wolfe Pack will be invited to submit up to five names to the committee.
  • The committee will create a final ballot of no more than five names based upon their review of the submissions.
    • Members will be asked to vote for their choices (from one to five choices per member) for the Archie.
    • Only one vote per member per author will be counted.
    • Blank ballots will be discarded.
    • The winner(s) must receive the votes of at least sixty (60%) of the respondents to be awarded the Archie.
  • Communication between the Nominating Committee and Pack members will be by mail and e-mail.
  • Deadlines will be determined by the Committee.
  • Authors elected to the Hall of Fame are posted on the Archie Awardees page.
