If there ever was a man who knows himself, it is Nero Wolfe. He storms out of the courtroom in contempt of court, vowing not to return until he is satisfied that justice will be served.

Die Like a Dog
It's one part crime story, one part love story, when Archie stumbles onto a murder scene and Nero Wolfe falls for a black Labrador he calls Jet. When the dog follows Archie home from the crime scene, there's no way the investigative pair can turn away from the mystery or the dog, until both are put in their rightful places.

Murder Is Corny
Inspector Cramer arrives with Nero Wolfe's specially picked corn, fresh from the murder scene of the delivery boy, convinced that Archie is the prime suspect because he was jealous of a "sweet" young farm girl. Wolfe and Archie will flush out the criminal, but not before the two crime-solvers face a brush with death of their own.

The Mother Hunt
When a swaddled baby is dropped on the doorstep of widow Lucy Valdon with a note saying "A child should live in his father's house," Lucy hires Nero Wolfe and Archie to find out if the baby was fathered by her late husband. Every lead turns up another murder, though, and Wolfe and Archie themselves get caught up in the intrigue before they can solve this tough case.

Poison a la Carte
A lecherous producer is killed during a banquet, and Nero Wolfe starts investigating the kitchen before the victim even dies. He boils down the pool of suspected murderers to one of the five servers of the banquet, but it will take a clever ruse to get the real killer to admit guilt.

Too Many Clients
When four separate clients all hire Nero Wolfe in one day to investigate the murder of the same man, Wolfe knows he's in for a doozy of a murder with a handsome reward at the end. In typical Wolfe style, he resolves the mystery with aplomb and walks away with a fat wallet.
